In 3D Max I accomplished a lot in terms of animating and render a half decent looking space car. I used a feature within 3D Max called "REACTOR". This is found in the utilities menu on the right hand side of the tool section on the 3D max interface. This particular function allowed me to assign specified weights to each individual box and even the car. This was helpful because this method is very realistic as heavy objects that collide with each other react and perform realistic qualities that make the actual crash seem real. I have learned how to angle, rotate and manipulate functions in animating my short clip and this is useful for when I look to use more lighting and cameras in my next project. The designs may seem basic but i met the deadline and acquired new skills within 3D max of which i'm happy about. I hope to make more progress and better quality finishes on future tasks.
A Professional Example:
This is a professional example of a vehicle that is Rendered to the highest quality.
I am to compare my work to this and compare the technical aspects. What i do notice from the professional example is the Lighting and shiny textures. The environments are very realistic as well. The animation of the professional example is very simple and maybe turns a bit much in my opinion and the panorama effect really does show off the natural lighting and features of the vehicle. I tried to keep my model in a decent space of lighting and also to make the features of the car stand out. Compared to the professional example I have yet alot to learn and grasp. The entire project is a learning curve. I did not spend much of my time watching tutorials and tried to figure more of the tools and functions out myself to get a better idea of what there is to use effectively. In future I'll intend on reading and reserching some tutorials to find tips and techniques used to get better rendered animations. I think overall the polygons were tricky to manipulate at times and the idea of modelling in 3D is something that takes practice and the quality of my work could improve. However I am enjoying the sessions and working on models and animating them. My model and animation compared to the professional piece is a long distance apart but the learning process is in effect.
