Moodboard - Here is a moodboard that my team has researched using various magazines and books. We used sources from magazines and books from the colleges library. This method of gathering existing logos was useful and helped us put together a moodboard that illustrates different types and kinds of logos. From this moodboard I immediately noticed that most logos use Bold fonts and simple primary colours. These Logos all seem to be simple in design, style, shape and also the use of colours help them to stand out. Taking these factors into consideration it helps us to gradually grasp an idea to as what our team logo should look like in terms of design and whether it is suitable and appealing.
Brainstorm - The brainstorm was actually a very important process for my team as it allowed us to share ideas and thoughts about a team logo and name. Team Members Included: Joe, Robin, Corey & Harrison. We all came to the agreement of the team name "Radioactive Zombie Penguins". This name will be shortened to R.Z.P so that when designing the actual logo we could just include the initials of our team name to keep our logo neat and simple. As we've noticed that keeping things simple generally works out best. In the brainstorm we focused on some key elements which were: Colours, Font, Text, Features, Shapes and the name of our team as we felt it would be beneficial to know why we picked R.Z.P and whether we liked it. I know that Copyrighting plays a major part when deciding on a company/team name as copyrighting is illegal, especially if it is a well know company. So creating our own name and logo would protect us from any infringements of copyrighting.
Text/Fonts - When it came to adding out team name and incorporating it into our logo, it was easiest to use a website that generates fonts. The website that generated these fonts below for our team name "Radioactive Zombie Penguins" is (www.1001fonts.com). 1001 Fonts helped us find a suitable font for us to incorporate into our logos design. There were a variety of styled and shaped text fonts which made it easy for us to get exactly what we need. The website is really organised and useful, as it provides a genre menu making it easy for someone who's looking for a animated or abstract font.
Concept Sketches - Whilst my team and I were in the process of brainstorming we managed to sketch some ideas down for Radioactive Zombie Penguins.Concept sketches gave us the opportunity to scribble some ideas down and come to agreement what looked best and most appealing. These sketches could actually be scanned onto the computer and processed into Photoshop for further editing and enhancing. Photoshoping our logo will give it a more professional look and style. We focused on the Zombie penguin which probably is the most iconic & symbolic part of our logo. We tried to incorporate commonly seen zombie features like for instance the brains, bones and flesh wounds. We also are incorporating the R.Z.P into the logo.
